¡®¡¯¡¯98 Army Manpower Loss Calculation"
Medical Analysis Tool(MAT)
1.Currently and widely used, data from FM 101-10-1, "Organizational and Technical and Logistic Data" is yielding same result as P-90K¢¥s data which used to calculate casualty generation rate. But problem is reliability problem of these data which yield 3 times higher result to the first research yields. Therefore, there should be reconsidering to apply these data. (P-98K is not considered in manuals)
2. Casualty Generation Rate is determined by the result of manpower loss resource. Therefore, total WIA rate(62%) and non WIA rate, disease rate(95.4%) is replaced until new medical resource generated, in standard of a infantry division.
3. Data of Manpower Loss Resource and Medical Resource from AHSS(;Armed Health Service School) yield same result in the area of measuring certain medical unit¢¥s mission carrying abilities and medical operation planning stage as of "Determination of loss" and "Medical Operation Planning Guideline" from the Army and Joint chief of Staff data.
4. K-98 is valid only after Joint Chief of Staff¢¥s approval.
5. MAT which is being reviewed by medical department of ROK/US Combined Army Force Command, is the first program that is applicable to "Medical Resources" and enable a medical unit independently to determine and plan. But there is still needs of research and study of process of adaptation to Korean environment.
As a result from cross-check of researches, which are previously studied and mentioned, conclusion is summarized as follows. First, there is needs of re-consideration of methods and bases of generating Medical Resources. Second as a matter of morale aspect, it is regarded as a crucial factor of policy making. Finally, early out-putting of Medical Resources can be adapted in operation of MAT. This makes our Army one step ahead in field of Medical Branches.
